In constant mission for a "clean" web

The Internet is informative, entertaining, but unfortunately also dangerous. Because not everyone is online with good intentions. Experts from Deutsche Telekom's Abuse Management work every day to make the Internet safer for everyone.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of abuse on the Internet. A careless click on an infected link or access to a malicious website is all it takes for a computer or smartphone to be infected with malware, leaving the door wide open for criminals. Victims often don't even notice that criminals are tapping into their data or sending spam via their email accounts. Trojans and other malware can spread unhindered.

Or rather, they could. Because of course Deutsche Telekom has something against malicious activity on the Internet. The Group's Abuse Management team is doing everything it can to stop abuse at an early stage, minimize cyber risks and keep damage to a minimum. The security professionals track incoming reports of Internet abuse and scour the network every day for stolen access data, hijacked accounts, bank details, credit card numbers and infected devices belonging to Deutsche Telekom customers. They use detection systems and artificial intelligence to search for anomalies. A telecommunications system that constantly makes calls abroad? A smartphone that sends thousands of messages to a large number of recipients? Such cases make the experts sit up and take notice. If they discover misuse or come across stolen data, they warn those affected and explain how the gateways can be closed and devices freed from malware.

If you have any questions or need help with cleaning up your smartphone and computer, the security team at Deutsche Telekom's Technical Customer Service is available free of charge on 0800 55 44 300.

Reports of misuse of Deutsche Telekom services can be sent to abuse@telekom.de at any time.
