Application tips for students, graduates, and experienced professionals

Here you will find all the insider tips from our recruiting team on how to impress with your application and excel in the interview.

Ultimate tips for your CV

Get to the point

Short, clear and well structured. Preferably in bullet points. The most recent experience comes first.

Showcase your experience

List relevant responsibilities and Experiences under each of your previous job titles.

Stay true to yourself

Be sure to avoid gaps in your CV. List them transparently(e.g. further training, sabbatical, job seeking, etc.)

Make yourself visible

We would be happy to receive a high-quality photo of you in good light. However, it is not a must and entirely up to you.

Motivational letter – yes or no?

It depends

Basically, it makes sense if you can't fit a piece of information in your CV or if you want to explain something.

Be brief

Maximum one page or less. Highlight particularly important keywords in bold.

Share your motivation

Formulate a strong introductory sentence that specifically relates to the position or the company.

Highlight your strengths

Be specific about the position and the company and intentionally use keywords from the job advertisement that match with your profile.

What other documents do you need?

Which?

Please provide references or certificates that are truly relevant to the job. Quality rather than quantity.

Meaningful

For example, a relevant certificate for the position or your last degree certificate.

Show us your work

In some positions it makes sense to show concrete results of your work.

Structure and clarity

Make it easier for us to review your documents by providing a clear structure and naming of your documents.

Tips for preparing for your job interview

Fix the basics

Find out as much as you can about the company. Think about why Deutsche Telekom should be your employer and why you are the perfect match.

Show us who you are

Prepare a convincing self-presentation. Use the opportunity to highlight the most relevant points from your resume.

Convince us of you

Think about which of your skills and experiences match the requirements in the job advertisement and highlight them.

Ask your questions

Prepare some questions about the company and the position. This shows your interest and motivation.

Application process

Bewerbungstipps-Steps-01

Confirmation & check of your application

You will receive a confirmation by email immediately after your application. The responsible recruiter (m/f/d) will review your application and make an initial selection. If your profile matches the advertised position, we will forward your application to the relevant department.

Bewerbungstipps-Steps-02

(Virtual) getting to know each other

Our interviews mainly take place virtually. On average, you can expect around two rounds of interviews - depending on the position and department. The fact is: you always get to know the department (+ HR).

Bewerbungstipps-Steps-03

Offer and conditions

Once we are both convinced that we are a perfect match, your recruiter will invite you to a meeting to discuss the terms and conditions. There you will go through the terms, benefits, and framework together and our offer will be presented to you.

Bewerbungstipps-Steps-04

Contract and works council

Have you accepted our offer? Then our HR service will take over and send you the contract immediately by email. It will take a little longer  by post. At the same time, the works council must also approve your employment.

Bewerbungstipps-Steps-05

Welcome to Telekom!

The contract has been signed and the works council has officially approved your employment? Then we would like to extend a warm welcome to you and look forward to preparing your onboarding.
