Telekom’s subsidiary T-Systems plans to achieve revenues of roughly one billion euros, or one seventh of its total revenue, with cloud business in 2015. Compared to cloud revenues of 400 million euros this year, this would mean an increase by a factor of 2.5. "The trend toward cloud solutions can be seen even today from major orders placed by corporations," said Telekom Board member and T-Systems CEO Reinhard Clemens. More and more companies in Germany and abroad now use demand-based, pay-per-use applications, computing and storage capacities from the Net. In 2012 alone, cloud-based order entry, i.e., revenues over the years of the contract terms, totaled roughly two billion euros. The multi-national energy corporation Shell has extended its existing contract for worldwide data center services early by another five years until 2018. T-Systems will continue to provide all SAP services for Shell’s global locations from within the cloud. The latest milestone is the entry to the U.S. healthcare market with a major order from Presbyterian. The company operates eight hospitals and 36 outpatient clinics in New Mexico and will obtain IT services from the cloud from the T-Systems data center in Houston (Texas) in the future. The contract has a term of ten years. The energy group BP has chosen cloud services from T-Systems for its employee communication. The Telekom subsidiary will provide BP with Microsoft Exchange 2010. Over 83,000 employees of BP spread around the world will then be able to access their usual communication services at all times, wherever they are, using mobile devices or via the fixed network. Deutsche Telekom will implement one of its most complex global integration projects for the Swiss group Georg Fischer. As part of this major order with a term of five and a half years, T-Systems is to expand the global data network for Georg Fischer and to pool the IT infrastructure of three independent Group subsidiaries in the customer’s newly created Corporate IT. The industrial group Georg Fischer will use SAP from the cloud to manage its business processes worldwide in the future. The Spanish automobile manufacturer SEAT has commissioned T-Systems to provide IT services for another three years. The new framework agreement covers data center services, ICT infrastructure as well as maintenance and further development of applications. SEAT obtains all information and communication services dynamically, adapted to its current course of business. With British American Tobacco (BAT), T-Systems has concluded one of the biggest cloud contracts in its corporate history. The contract has a term of seven years. Getting IT services dynamically from the cloud will enable BAT to increase flexibility and cut costs. To be able to meet the increased demand for cloud services in the future as well, T-Systems will be simplifying its organizational structure considerably and make its business processes cloud-capable throughout.
