Momentum from the cloud: Deutsche Telekom and its partners are driving forward the digitization of the German economy

  • First joint product with Salesforce.com for the automotive trade
  • HR management of 220,000 Deutsche Telekom employees from the cloud
  • Partner solutions for all of Europe from the Biere security data center

Deutsche Telekom and its cloud partners are generating momentum for the digitization of the German economy. At CeBIT, Deutsche Telekom and its corporate customer arm, T-Systems, are showing solutions they have developed as part their constantly growing partner ecosystem. Together with Salesforce.com, T-Systems' automotive specialists have engineered, for example, an application for the automotive trade. With SAP, T-Systems now also offers the HR management solution Successfactors from the secure Telekom cloud. As the Intercloud partner for Europe, Deutsche Telekom is currently building up secure infrastructure services in Biere.

Telekom and Salesforce create customer solution for auto industry
Automotive systems, whether financial, aftermarket or dealer management systems, typically operate in silos, which creates friction along the customer journey. A new Deutsche Telekom offering announced today at CeBIT, Customer Experience for Automotive, is a unified, mobile-ready solution that helps dealers better manage the customer experience, and increase loyalty and potential revenue - built entirely on the Salesforce1 Platform.

Customer Experience for Automotive includes several modules, such as Showroom Proximity, which connects dealers, workshops, vehicles and customers more closely via an interactive showroom on a prospective customer’s mobile phone. The solution allows dealers to send personalized offers to customers and analyze specific behavior patterns. The goal of this solution is to allow leading automotive brands to take consumers on a personalized journey.

At CeBIT, Deutsche Telekom and Deloitte Digital, a leading consulting firm with over 2,800 Salesforce.com experts, also announced a strategic partnership to implement Salesforce.com solutions for European customers.

Together with Cisco to a secure public cloud for Europe
Since the end of September, 2014, Deutsche Telekom has been established as Cisco's Intercloud partner for Europe. Intercloud is to be the world's biggest cloud network, based on the OpenStack open source software. Cisco plans to link up more than 350 data centers of over 60 Intercloud partners in 50 countries. The vision is for all Intercloud partners to provide their solutions via the new, hybrid cloud infrastructure to customers around the world. Customers then choose for themselves which Intercloud partner and which data center to procure their applications from.

T-Systems will operate and market the European part of the Intercloud as a secure public cloud. Where public clouds are currently still too unsecured, for instance in public sector use, in real-time communication between cities and citizens, the European Intercloud now offers completely new, secure possibilities for interaction. The Cisco infrastructure is currently being installed in the new high-performance data center in Biere near Magdeburg. In addition to infrastructure offers based on the Intercloud, in the future, Deutsche Telekom will also offer software and platform services. The first Software-as-a-Service product, a managed hotspot that enables small and medium-sized enterprises to access the Internet quickly, easily and securely, will be available in the second quarter of 2015.

T-Systems and SAP make personal data secure for the cloud
Also from the highly secure Telekom Cloud, T-Systems is offering SuccessFactors HCM (Human Capital Management), an application for HR management. This solution from the SAP subsidiary also enables processing of particularly sensitive civil servant data. From April 2015, Deutsche Telekom will also increase its own productivity with SuccessFactors HCM: The Group is making use of the highly scalable cloud application for the worldwide recruitment and targeted training of the some 220,000 employees.

BVMW chooses SugarCRM from Telekom’s secure data center
BVMW, The German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses, is one of SugarCRM and Deutsche Telekom’s first joint customers. BVMW representatives make more than 700,000 contacts each year to represent the interests of the organization’s 270,000 member companies. In the past, individual BVMW offices separately managed member contacts with several different systems. The inability to share and synchronize information across systems was increasingly tedious and time-consuming. BVMW selected Sugar, powered by Deutsche Telekom, as its corporate CRM to give individual representatives across all of its offices a single platform to more effectively manage relationships with member organizations. BVMW is also using Sugar to create, manage and analyze marketing campaigns targeted to its members.

“BVMW has a long standing partnership with Deutsche Telekom,” said Bernd Adamaschek, CEO at BVMW, The German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses. “We know that their operations and services meet the most stringent standards for Internet security and data privacy in Germany and their data centers and servers are in Germany – that is most important for us. Together with SugarCRM’s innovative and highly flexible CRM platform this is a perfect solution for our business needs.”
