A successful start for MagentaMusik 360: More than 600,000 viewers watched Rock am Ring with Deutsche Telekom's new music and entertainment service. About 50,000 music fans use the MagentaMusik 360 app. The telecommunications company presented a total of 33 concerts from the legendary festival in HD live stream, the majority in 360° format. Upcoming highlights from MagentaMusik 360 include the Gorillaz Showcase „Telekom Electronic Beats presents ‚Humanz’ live“ on June 20, 2017, in Cologne, which will be available as a live stream in 360°. MagentaEINS customers will also have an exclusive advance purchase option for priority tickets for the upcoming German concerts by Rag’n’Bone Man (from June 19) and Queens of the Stone Age (from June 20). This service is possible thanks to Deutsche Telekom's partnership with Live Nation.
"With MagentaMusik 360, our aim is to provide our customers with a virtual reality experience of top music events in the future," explained Michael Schuld, Head of Communication and Sales Marketing at Telekom Deutschland. "With our new music and entertainment service, we can again offer our customers real added value: the feeling of seeing an act live both when they're actually there, and when they are on the go or at home."
Experience Gorillaz live and in virtual reality
This will be an extraordinary music experience, and fans can be a part of it. Three 360° cameras and eight regular cameras will broadcast the Gorillaz showcase on June 20 at 9.30 p.m. in Cologne. Viewers on the MagentaMusik 360 website and using the MagentaMusik 360 app for iOS, Android and Oculus will be able to move the image in a number of directions and to watch the band and the concert space from a variety of perspectives. It will also be possible to see Gorillaz on EntertainTV at channel 131.
MagentaEINS Prio priority tickets with new highlights
MagentaEINS customers will be able to purchase tickets exclusively in advance from June 19 for Rag’n’Bone Man's German shows. The same applies to the U.S. rock band Queens of the Stone Age, with exclusive advance sales starting on June 20. The MagentaEINS Prio priority tickets will be available up to 48 hours before tickets go on sale to the general public. Up to four tickets per event can be purchased while stocks last.
Successful start for MagentaMusik 360 at Rock am Ring
With more than 600,000 live digital viewers and 50,000 users of the app, MagentaMusik 360 got off to an impressive start at Rock am Ring. Music fans could experience 33 concerts, including performances by Die Toten Hosen, Beatsteaks and System Of A Down, via a total of seven live streams, in which they could select their personal view of the event. "We set ourselves the goal of extending the reach of our artists. And, together with Telekom, we achieved this at Rock am Ring, where we enabled fans to watch the event in 360° live stream, in a format that is a global first," said Lars-Oliver Vogt, President of Brand Partnership & Media at Live Nation, of the new partnership.
Most of the festival performances will now be available for a limited time as video on demand. Viewers can see bands like Beatsteaks, Kraftklub, Prophets of Rage, Marteria, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Broilers.
