- gkv informatik entrusts T-Systems with IT systems
- Telekom subsidiary processes millions of social data of insured persons
- Experience and security convinced the health insurance IT service provider
gkv informatik has commissioned T-Systems with the IT operation for the billing of all affiliated health insurance companies. gkv informatik is the IT service provider for the health insurances BARMER, Hanseatische Krankenkasse (HEK) as well as for AOK Nordost, AOK NORDWEST and AOK Rheinland/Hamburg. These statutory health insurances cover around 17 million people.
The new contract ensures the operation of the entire IT infrastructure. This includes computer center and storage services as well as server operation for the central workplace services. The contract has a term of six years and a volume in the mid three-digit million Euro range.
"The decision in favor of T-Systems was based on the fact that T-Systems meets our requirements for an efficient and experienced partner. T Systems impressed us with its quality, cost-effectiveness and security," says Georg Büttner, Managing Director of gkv informatik.
"When it comes to security, we are number one in Germany," says Bernd Wagner, head of the 'Sales Germany' business unit. "Our network solutions had already convinced the customer. We have been managing the data network of the Wuppertal-based IT service provider since gkv informatik was founded in 2006. This new contract deals with operating social data. These data are particularly sensitive and especially protected. This is why security together with quality and price play such an outstanding role. The fact that gkv informatik entrusts us with its sensitive data is of special importance. It shows how much trust we have earned in the industry."
Locations throughout Germany, tens of thousands of users
gkv informatik has 760 employees and supports around 40,000 users throughout Germany. Amongst other things, it centrally collects the insured persons’ contributions of their affiliated insurance companies.
