Romania: Four new Romtelecom concept shops and a new broadband approach announced today

Romtelecom’s CEO, Yorgos Ioannidis, participated today at the inauguration of a new Romtelecom concept shop in Bucharest, Vitan area. On this occasion he also announced a new commercial approach for broadband services offered for the residential customers, available starting next week.

The new shop in Bucharest offers its visitors more facilities, increasing the interactivity provided through the multimedia and demo areas, where all Romtelecom and Cosmote services can be directly tested, thus insuring an immediate and authentic experience. The consultancy area is designed to offer all customers personalized information, related to services, promotions as well as bill optimization.

"By opening these new concept shops, we are continuing our strategy to test alternative ways of merchandizing Romtelecom’s services, to try new ways to present our services to the customers. In April we will have four such concept stores opened, two in Bucharest, one in Constanta and another in Braila," states Yorgos Ioannidis, CEO Romtelecom. Part of the same strategy was the set up of three kiosks in commercial centers in Bucharest and Cluj during last year. The new concept shops are in line with the Entertainer positioning of the company and based on the merchandising standards of Deutsche Telekom.

Yorgos Ioannidis also announced that on March 22nd Romtelecom will launch a new portfolio of broadband services, simplifying the present offers. "Customers don’t care about the technology used, they care about the experience – receiving the services they want at the satisfactory speed for a fair price and reliable customer care when they need support. We are doing our best to assure all these and we believe that the new broadband portfolio will make it easier for our customers to choose the right product for their needs, independent of the technology used", said CEO Yorgos Ioannidis.

The three simplified packages are addressing all different segments of Internet usage needs:

  • SURF – subscription for customers with occasional usage of Internet, provided at 2 Mbps for download and tariffs starting from 2.9 Euros/month, VAT excluded;
  • PLAY - subscription designed for the majority of Internet users, offering speeds between 4 and 50 Mbps, depending on the technology used; tariffs start from 4.4 Euros/month, VAT excluded;
  • POWER - subscription addressing heavy Internet users with very high needs in terms of download speed, varying between 8 Mbps and 100 Mbps, depending on the technology used; the monthly fees start from 5.9 Euros/month, VAT excluded.

Together with the new broadband offer, Romtelecom will also launch as a benefit for its customers two of the best online security products, Norton AntiVirus 2010 and Norton Internet Security 2010, with prices starting from 1 Euro per month (VAT excluded). The new Clicknet customers will benefit of 3 months free of charge for any of the two Norton products.
