"To each his own Website" - such is the promise made by the new Private Homepage Plus, an additional service being presented by T-Online at CeBIT 2003 and one which makes it possible for anyone, even without knowledge of HTML or FTP, to create their own personal homepage in just a few easy steps. The product is aimed at users who are rather technology-shy, yet who want to establish a quick and professional Internet presence without having to invest much time or money. The advanced features and variety of options also make the product suitable for more technologically-proficient users. The Homepage Plus basic package costs 2.95 Euro per month and can be expanded by each individual user as required. There is no installation charge.
Customers using Private Homepage Plus can set up their own Web address according to the following template http://wunschname.privat.t-online.de; the homepage is then automatically included in the T-Online search engine. With the help of the Online Website Creator, anyone can create an attractive Flash animation as an introduction to their private homepage, while setting up a visitors- book, ticker, feedback form or counter is also child's play.
The basic package includes ten megabytes storage capacity and two gigabytes transfer volume per month. This is sufficient to set up an extensive homepage comprising multiple pages, images and animation. The transfer volume will also cater for a growing number of visitors. The homepage can be set up and managed online, removing the need to install software on the customer's own PC. The Design Assistant offers a choice of 50 different designs plus numerous variable details so that the user can design their private homepage as simply, yet as individually, as possible. Update and maintenance of the homepage is also child's play with the Design Assistant. Files can be transferred into the network or downloaded over a password-protected FTP link.
A special administration tool helps the user to manage Homepage Plus more effectively. It provides such information as remaining homepage capacity and allows additional services to be purchased in time.
Extras both little and large The address for the customer's individual homepage is contained in the basic package in the form wunschname.privat.t-online.de. Anyone who would like to reserve his or her own personal ".de" domain can do so for 0.95 Euro per month. Perhaps you want to include photos from your last holiday on your homepage? The picture gallery makes this simple: For just 0.95 Euro per month, users can incorporate a picture gallery with up to 100 pictures. It is in fact possible to have a total of five picture galleries on one homepage. And what if a customer wants more transfer volume and more Web space? No problem - by paying an extra 0.95 Euro each month, customers can expand their homepage by ten megabytes, while if they exceed the two gigabytes of allotted traffic, they pay 9.95 Euro for each new gigabyte or part thereof.
The Online Website Creator included in the basic package allows customers to create up to ten Internet pages. Each additional ten pages cost an extra 2.95 Euro per month. And by paying an additional 6.95 Euro per month on top of the basic price, customers can create as many pages as they like with the help of the Design Assistant.
