Deutschland TelePresence: A service package for live conferencing with a whole new dimension

  • End-to-end service package from a single source
  • New service improves internal and external company communication, saves travel costs and helps protect the environment
  • Hotels can improve their business customer offer immensely with the Deutschland TelePresence service

With its new Deutschland TelePresence service, Deutsche Telekom is offering business customers a complete service package for top quality live conferencing. Customers don't need to have specialized knowledge or make large investments to use the service to conduct video conferences in never-before-seen quality. The service enables exceptionally intensive and efficient exchange of information. Companies can use it to simplify and accelerate internal communication, including personal communication with business partners and customers. The service saves time and money normally used for travel expenses and helps reduce CO2 emissions as well. Deutsche Telekom offers the TelePresence service in Germany as a complete end-to-end service package. The service includes provision of required terminal equipment, setting up the infrastructure at customer premises, activating the customer's network, security and operator services and other services as well. In other words, customers are provided with all the solution components they need, each one perfectly adjusted, from a single source. The new service gives small and medium-sized companies as well as large enterprises and institutions numerous, uncomplicated channels for direct communication between locations or with customers and collaboration partners. Deutsche Telekom is planning to target this new, end-to-end service offer to the hotel industry, among others. Hotels can use the Deutschland TelePresence service to market live conferences à la carte as an attractive additional service. TelePresence is a way for business hotels to significantly expand their service offer. They can make a name for themselves as the first stop for all business travelers who want to be able to hold direct, personal conferences with partners all over the world: an obvious advantage over competitors who are only able to provide conference rooms in addition to accommodation and cuisine. TelePresence basically does away with the distance between participants. Participants feel like they are sitting at the same table during a "real" conference. This is because participants appear on HD plasma screens of up to 65 inches in size. Thanks to sophisticated technology, participants are even able to pick up on non-verbal communication such as gestures. TelePresence also gives participants the feeling that they are in the same room by setting up identical conference rooms at different locations. In addition to images and sound, you can use TelePresence to share other information and view and work on Office documents such as PowerPoint presentations together. You can use the additional camera integrated into the solution to record drawings and put them on the screen for all participants to view. The TelePresence system is very convenient. The solution is easy to use and can be easily integrated into existing information and communications technology systems. That means you can use Outlook to access room availability and book a TelePresence slot. All you have to do to start a live HD conference is push a button on your phone. Deutsche Telekom offers different versions of the TelePresence system to meet different demands. Up to six people can meet in each room with TelePresence 3000 and you can set up a "virtual table" that holds up to twelve participants. TelePresence 1100 can be used for small conference rooms with up to two people per room - perfect for private discussions across almost any distance. The monthly leasing price for the Deutschland TelePresence service will be between EUR 1,995 and EUR 11,995 during the market launch phase, depending on the selected version and the ordered services.
