Thorsten Langheim

Member of the Deutsche Telekom AG Board of Management, USA and Group Development.

Thorsten Langheim, born in 1966, citizenship German, joined the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom Group on January 1, 2019, where he is responsible for the “USA and Group Development" board department. Thorsten Langheim is responsible for Deutsche Telekom’s U.S. business as well as Corporate Development, Portfolio Strategy and Group Mergers & Acquisitions activities. This includes managing the 12 percent stake in BT as well as the management of the 49 percent stake in GD Towers.

Moreover, Mr. Langheim is Chairman and Co-founder of Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners, the venture capital and private equity activities of Deutsche Telekom.

Thorsten Langheim is a member of the Board of Directors of T-Mobile US, Supervisory Board member of Deutsche Sporthilfe and FC Bayern München AG as well as a Chairman of the Shareholders’ Committee of GD Towers.

Prior to his position at Deutsche Telekom, Mr. Langheim was Managing Director at the Private Equity Group of The Blackstone Group, an asset management and financial services company, from May 2004 to June 2009, primarily focusing on private equity investments in Germany. Before that, Mr. Langheim was Investment Banker and Vice President European M&A at J.P. Morgan in London and Assistant Director at WestLB in Düsseldorf between 1995 and 2004.

Mr. Langheim serves as a member of the Board of Directors at T-Mobile US and is a member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Sporthilfe as well as Chairman of T-Mobile Netherlands and Deutsche Funkturm.

Mr. Langheim holds a Master of Science degree in International Securities, Investment and Banking from the ISMA Centre for Education and Research at the University of Reading. Mr. Langheim holds a Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in European Finance and Accounting from Hochschule in Bremen (Germany) and Leeds Business School (United Kingdom).
