At Telekom, we are committed to enabling people with and without disabilities to work together.
Deutsche Telekom has a diverse workforce. The group employs 200,000 people worldwide of different ages, genders, origins, religions, and people with and without disabilities. Inclusion for us means the natural and respectful coexistence of all employees. We stand for the equal participation of people with disabilities in work life and society.
For years, Telekom has exceeded the legally mandated minimum quota of 5 percent for employing severely disabled people in Germany. In recent years, an average of about 7.5% of our employees have been severely disabled or of equal status. With around 7,000 severely disabled employees in Germany alone, Deutsche Telekom is particularly committed to inclusion. The group offers a wide range of supportive measures, integration agreements, and special training.
Action Plan for Inclusion and Equal Opportunities
Complementing the Group Inclusion Agreement updated in 2022, an Action Plan 2.0 was created to maintain, promote, and align inclusion within the company with new developments in the workplace.
The action plan contributes to the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Goals are defined and suggestions are given on how inclusion can be successful, focusing on various fields of action. For example, it is stipulated that qualification measures are designed to be barrier-free so that they are equally accessible to employees with and without disabilities. Telekom also offers a special service for our deaf customers.
Severe disability is for us part of diversity, equity and inclusion.
