Influencers in companies, so-called corporate influencers, are becoming increasingly important in the communications mix. This can also be seen at Deutsche Telekom through the Telekom Ambassadors initiative. This self-organised community of employees is passionately committed to the company and brings Telekom to life on a personal level - whether online or in real life.
What are the Telekom Ambassadors?
The Telekom Ambassadors are a network of employees who represent their work and their employer with pride and enthusiasm. They reach millions of people via social media and are easily recognisable at events and online by their magenta accessories. 2015 Founded as a grassroots movement, the initiative is now firmly established and has been recognised with numerous awards.
Where and how do they work?
The ambassadors are active throughout Germany and internationally. They are present on platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Tiktok and the social intranet, report on events or help with customer enquiries. Volunteering takes centre stage, with many of them getting involved alongside their main job. Some areas even allow up to 20 percent of working time to be used for ambassador activities.
Who is an ambassador?
Any Telekom employee can be an ambassador. There are currently around 300 active ambassadors from over 15 countries. They organise themselves independently of hierarchies and departments and share their passion for Telekom on social media, in their private lives and at work.
