The European Championship Cup is going on a trophy tour in the run-up to EURO 2024 and has also made a stop at Deutsche Telekom's headquarters in Bonn. Presenter Johannes B. Kerner welcomed DFB sporting director Rudi Völler and spoke with Tim Höttges, among others, about Deutsche Telekom's commitment and the chances of the German team.
The European Championship trophy is going on a big trophy tour in the run-up to EURO 2024. It will not only make a stop at the ten German venues, but also at Deutsche Telekom's headquarters in Bonn. The Henri-Delaunay coup, as it was officially called, has been awarded since 1960. The German national team has taken him home three times so far. Who knows in what years? 1972, 1980 and 1996. Müller, Hrubesch, Bierhoff – we remember. © Deutsche Telekom
MagentaTV EURO host Johannes B. Kerner (front) welcomes the guests and moderates the entertaining event with CEO Tim Höttges, DFB sporting director Rudi Völler, Wolfgang Metze and Michael Hagspihl (from left to right) and. "I feel a certain energy here. This is what we need in the summer as well. Today we want to give you a fortaste of it." © Deutsche Telekom
Michael Hagspihl promises: "We will do everything we can so that people can be very close to the action. As a technology and broadcast partner, mood setter and as fans, we ensure a unique experience." The motto is also intended to contribute to this: VOLLDABEI. The head of sponsorship talks about the state of preparations. "We are on schedule." Only in the case of the fibre optic connection, the Bundesliga final still has to be waited for. This is because classic civil engineering is used for this purpose - and this is difficult to do while the game is running. © Deutsche Telekom
Wolfgang Metze then presents Deutsche Telekom's offers for the EURO: All mobile customers will receive unlimited data volume during the tournament. It doesn't matter if it's a contract customer or a prepaid card. "With us, you can follow the EURO anywhere in Germany without restriction," says the PK boss. "If Deutsche Telekom is going to do something, it's going to do it right." Simply install the 'My Magenta app', book the free data volume, and nothing stands in the way of streaming in the beer garden or on the train. It couldn't be easier! © Deutsche Telekom
Johannes B. Kerner then explains the role of MagentaTV: "We are a well-rehearsed team with whom we accompany the games on MagentaTV objectively and analytically." The first TV highlight, however, will be an interview with national coach Julian Nagelsmann in the TV format 'Best Cast'. "I'm very curious to see how he wants to get the last percent out of the team. And whether he is still planning personnel changes," he reveals. © Deutsche Telekom
Tim Höttges is also looking forward to the football summer: "The T is there, the brand is there. That's something very special." And further: When people look back on EURO 2024, 'magenta' should be part of their memory of this tournament. He summarizes what else is planned: Among other things, the employee tournament – the Telekom Team Trophy – will take place in Mönchengladbach on June 1. And then there's the big UEFA fan festival in Munich with Ed Sheeran, Mark Forster and Nelly Furtado on June 12 in front of around 90,000 fans. © Deutsche Telekom
Popular figure, idol and DFB sporting director: Rudi Völler gives his assessment of the national team's chances: As always, he is optimistic! For him, the reason for this is the game against France. "For me, it's the best I've seen from the team in recent years." There is a small tip from Kerner: After all, despite the many sporting successes, Völler has never won the European Championship trophy himself. But that's everything else ;-) And then he reveals something else: his nickname 'Aunt Käthe' was actually given to him - as the legend goes - by former national team and roommate Thomas Berthold. © Deutsche Telekom
