Health card: Deutsche Telekom launches offer for doctors on September 3

The secure healthcare network is currently being developed in Germany. It connects patients, doctors, hospitals, and health insurance providers nationwide. Pharmacies will also be added in the future. Special technology is required to connect to the network. Deutsche Telekom is a full-service provider and is bringing the Medical Access Port Bundle starter package to the market.

The bundle currently costs 2,881.99* euros (one-time fee). There is also a monthly charge of 82.67* euros. Sales of the bundle will launch on September 3. It includes a special router called a connector. The bundle also includes a stationary card reader and the connection itself. Installation and maintenance of the connector are part of the bundle, as well as a special hotline for doctors.

Doctors need the electronic practice ID card no later than the connection date. The card identifies and registers the practice in the healthcare network. Installation is not possible without it. All associations of statutory health insurance physicians and dentists in Germany have approved the practice ID from Deutsche Telekom for the healthcare network.The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) tested Deutsche Telekom’s entire offer. gematik (Gesellschaft für Telematikanwendungen der Gesundheitskarte mbH), a company for telematics applications of the health card has approved all components of the Telekom bundle.
