Telekom Baskets Bonn
Headquartered in Bonn, Deutsche Telekom has been a partner of the city’s home team, the Telekom Baskets, since 1993. As well as being the main sponsor of the club and featuring in its name, the company also has its moniker on the exterior of the Baskets’ home arena, the Telekom Dome, in Bonn’s Hardtberg neighborhood. Outdoor screenings of special matches and the now traditional Telekom Baskets playoff shirt giveaways are just some of the highlights that fans can enjoy as a result of our partnership with the team. And the Baskets squad are always well received whenever they stop by Deutsche Telekom Headquarters or the Telekom Campus on Landgrabenweg.
Baskets@school
The Baskets@school project sees Deutsche Telekom working with the Telekom Baskets and the City of Bonn to promote exercise and the enjoyment of basketball among children and young people in the region. Launched in 2017, the initiative serves as an umbrella for a number of projects catering to the needs of different school year groups, from the fun approach of the Baskets Primary School Challenge and the communal experience of participating in the Baskets Primary School League to the inspiration of having a sports class taught by the children’s basketball idols. Köln 99ers
Alongside its involvement in the “Experiencing new sports” project, which is delivered by Köln 99ers coaches, Deutsche Telekom is also the partner of Cologne’s wheelchair basketball team in the RBBL, Germany’s first-division league for the sport. One of Deutsche Telekom’s aims through its involvement in wheelchair basketball is to help reduce people’s insecurities and wariness around disabled persons.
