30 years of passion - 30 years of Telekom Baskets Bonn and Deutsche Telekom. A success story began in Bonn in 1995. Since then, together we have stood for top-class sport, emotion and the promotion of basketball. The atmosphere at Telekom Baskets' home games is legendary throughout the league. Most valuable German brand of all time

January 17, 2024 / As confirmed by the “Brand Finance Global 500” study, Deutsche Telekom is one of the most valuable brands worldwide. The experts listed the Group as the only European company in the top 10 in the overall ranking. Deutsche Telekom also became the most valuable telecommunications brand in the world for the first time, beating Verizon and AT&T to top spot. In terms of Europe, the T remains the top ranked corporate brand.

IoT Tariffs for Satellite Connectivity

February 28, 2024 / Telekom, in partnership with Intelsat and Skylo, is launching its first commercial satellite-based connectivity offering. Customers can choose between two tariff plans that integrate terrestrial and satellite connectivity.
Magenta Telekom, a Telekom subsidiary, is extending the Internet of Things (IoT) to remote Austrian regions without terrestrial mobile coverage, such as mountainous areas. Reliable, fail-safe M2M communication is guaranteed via satellite connections. This is achieved through a hybrid solution that seamlessly switches to Skylo’s satellite network whenever mobile coverage is unavailable or no roaming agreement is in place.

Telekom is official national partner of UEFA EURO 2024™

June 2024 / As official national partner of UEFA EURO 2024™, Deutsche Telekom supported the soccer highlight of the year in the areas of telecommunications services, sponsorship and media rights. More than 70 million people watched the matches on MagentaTV, the only platform to broadcast all 51 games live. Five of them exclusively.

“Magenta Mitte” now in Berlin

September 10, 2024 / Deutsche Telekom has moved its representative office in the capital into a new prestigious building. The new “Magenta Mitte” (Magenta Middle) is to become Deutsche Telekom's central location for exchanges with political, economic and cultural interest groups, business customers, partners, media and decision-makers. Events, workshops and lectures on current topics relating to digitalization and telecommunications will also be held there. By moving into “Magenta Mitte”, the company is giving up its previous address in Französische Straße and moving into the vibrant center of the city. 

Artificial intelligence for greater energy efficiency.

Green AI

September 12, 2024 / Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to play a pivotal role in climate protection. It can, for instance, optimize energy-efficient production or enable demand-based energy distribution. However, the technology also consumes substantial resources, including energy, raw materials for hardware, and water for chip manufacturing or cooling data centers. Telekom takes a holistic approach to AI, aiming to maximize its benefits while minimizing its environmental footprint.

Telekom introduce principles for Green AI, supporting the sustainable development and application of this technology. AI is already being leveraged in Telekom’s data centers and networks to improve energy efficiency. Moreover, Telekom actively promotes AI solutions that contribute to greater sustainability.
