Geanina, Business System & ICS Specialist at Deutsche Telekom Services Europe (DTSE) in Romania, finds professional and personal fulfillment in collaborating and supporting her colleagues - both in her work on IT projects and in voluntary initiatives such as the Telekom Ambassador Community and hackathons. She relies on discipline and organization to manage her commitments. Geanina views these activities as crucial sources of long-term satisfaction and as pathways to her future growth, where she can continue to thrive and make a real difference.
What do you enjoy most about participating in the Telekom-Ambassador community?
Geanina: The sense of belonging and camaraderie that comes with being part of this amazing team. It's the feeling of knowing that I am part of the international #magenta family, and that together we are united in one, in facing challenges and celebrating successes.
Together in the Telekom-Ambassador community, we collaborate, share ideas about different topics and find support in one another, by pushing each other to reach new heights and achieve our goals. But beyond the tasks and projects, it's the relationships forged in the shared journey. For me, that truly makes the T-community a place where I feel valued, appreciated, and empowered to make a difference.
How do you manage your responsibilities for IT projects alongside other activities such as the Telekom-Ambassador community and Hackathons?
Geanina: Personally, I thrive on variety and purpose, so juggling these different activities adds depth and fulfillment to my life. In the fast-paced world of IT projects, I immerse myself in problem-solving and innovation. The voluntary work comes in as my sanctuary – a space where I can connect with my community.
Of course, it's not always easy to juggle both equally. That's when I rely on discipline and organization to stay on track. I carve out dedicated time for each pursuit, making sure to give my full attention and energy to whatever I'm working on at the moment. Both in IT projects and voluntary work, it's the people – their stories, struggles, and triumphs – that fuel my passion. Even though balancing IT projects and volunteer work requires careful planning and effort, the sense of fulfillment it brings into my life makes every moment worthwhile.
How do you see your engagement impacting your career in the long term?
Geanina: I see my involvement in IT projects and voluntary work as integral to shaping my career journey.
Passion is the driving force that propels me forward. We learn, we grow, we fix, but above all, we connect – this is what keep us moving: the trust in each other.
Additionally, Geanina explains in a video how a positive work environment impacts personal development and why mutual appreciation is important to her.
