Women@Technik: Diversity unleashes talent

In our series, we present personal stories about female employees at Telekom Technik GmbH. As Tribe Lead, Natalia Belodedova attaches great importance to the development of her teams and is always a role model for them. The topic of digitization is really important to her as it makes life better and easier for everyone.

Natalia, why did you want to work for Telekom Technik?

Natalia: My life has always been shaped by technology. I am from Saint Petersburg, Russia, and moved to Germany to study communications engineering. There, I participated in a pilot project between St. Petersburg University and Leipzig University of Applied Sciences. Germany fascinated me, and I really wanted to work in the field of mobile technology. A personal highlight was being involved in the development of a mobile communications network, as I really wanted to understand the technology.

Where did you go from there?

Natalia: As a “city person”, I looked in big cities for my first professional experience and was hired as a wireless network planner following my interview at T-Mobile in Munich. There, I gained extensive experience in mobile communications and fixed networks and, at the same time, completed my master’s degree. I then assumed the leadership of strategic projects and realized that people are the most important thing when it comes to technical work. I gradually developed in leadership roles, most recently with a focus on digitalization and operations. Now I’m looking forward to the next challenge: driving business and data management in the fixed-network sector as a Tribe Lead.

What drives you?

Natalia: I’m inquisitive and future-centric. Personally, I believe it’s a great responsibility to increase my team’s potential by means of training and targeted support. I’m particularly driven by my passion for digitalization. I like to encourage my employees to use digitalization tools and to be a role model themselves. My biggest drive is to see results and improvements that positively impact our lives and those of others.

Don’t be afraid to try it out! Natalia Belodedova

What do you recommend to others?

Natalia: “Dare to do it!” I don’t always put myself in the foreground and therefore try to give others more space. I’ve always dared to try a lot of things and now I feel much more comfortable doing it. I also recommend the “Child and Career” program. At first, I had doubts about how to balance a career and family with children. The mentors helped me to believe in myself.

Why are you involved in the Frauen@Technik community?

Natalia: I’m convinced that this network will benefit us all. On the one hand, it’s an excellent opportunity to meet new, great colleagues, to ask for advice, and to broaden your horizons. On the other hand, it’s also an opportunity to make our technical team even more diverse – both on an expert as well as on a management level. As a leader, I firmly believe in the power of diversity and am happy when it allows us to fully develop talent.
