For the second time, research company Potentialpark in collaboration with ausbildung.de analyzed career channels at German companies, and found that Deutsche Telekom’s communications are among the most student-friendly in Germany, ranking it in second place.
As part of a student survey, Potentialpark analyzed the career channels of 100 companies in Germany as seen through the eyes of students, comparing whether the information they needed was readily available on the careers website or on social media, for example. The results are a timely reminder of the importance of communicating effectively and consistently across all channels in order to appeal to students and keep pace with their expectations.
Deutsche Telekom’s career channels
One example is our presence on TikTok, which confirmed an interesting finding. Deutsche Telekom has been active on this channel for the past year, delivering fascinating snapshots of company life. Compared with last year’s survey, twice as many respondents said they were now on TikTok. As well as TikTok, the company posts across a range of social media channels including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, providing information about career opportunities as well as supporting students with careers advice and job application tips. Selfie videos and reports on the careewebsites give an authentic and realistic insight into the day-to-day working lives of our dual students and apprentices. Full details of the application process and job vacancies at Deutsche Telekom can also be found here.
The overall internet presence, the content and structure of its careers site, the variety of social media posts and the structured online application process were the deciding factors which boosted Deutsche Telekom’s position on the leaderboard, rising an impressive eight places against last year.
