Your Tasks

As chapter lead (m/w/d) in the Chapter AI & Data Science you have the staff leadership responsibility for the employees following the Group leadership principles in a large chapter of people having strong expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, data engineering, data analytics and data science.

  • You are responsible for selected projects/functional topics within the Data Horizontal unit
  • You supervise teams working on these topics and are accountable for the delivery
  • You cooperate with other functional areas within the Data Horizontal unit and co-create the strategy and the data architecture
  • You are responsible for staffing teams working in vertical product teams according to their demands and the competences of the employees
  • You are responsible for the capacity utilization of the chapter, optimizing the chapter using key performance indicators and increasing process efficiency in the task area
  • You ensure future-oriented and sustainable skill development for all employees in line with the business strategy taking functional trends in the market into account: actively sharing knowledge (communities of practice), initiating trainings and promoting talents
  • You cascade the higher-level strategy into your area: briefing your employees and keeping them informed about general matters
  • In alignment with the employees and leads of the chapter you steer the focus areas and competences of the employees and act as a technical go-to person for the leaders of the vertical units and other organizational units

Your Profile

  • You have multiple years of technical or disciplinary leadership experience; leading (distributed) teams in data science, artificial intelligence, data engineering or machine learning
  • You have proven experience in identifying and developing the specific potentials of talents, supporting their growth by creating the necessary work environment and challenges
  • You have proven theoretical and hands-on knowledge in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data engineering or data science, where you have successfully implemented multiple relevant projects from ideation to deployment
  • You are impact- and outcome-focused and poses a strategic and innovative way of thinking
  • You are a self-driven learner
  • First experience in telecommunication, ideally in DTAG is beneficial
  • Master or comparable degree in computer science, engineering or in a related field. A PhD is a plus
  • You are business fluent in English and German
