Deutsche Telekom praises again the Women’s STEM Award. In these times of digital transformation and lack of experts, it is more important than ever to encourage young women for STEM careers and development opportunities. Therefore, Telekom wants to make outstanding talents visible and support young women in STEM. New this year: a special prize for Social Impact. We believe that everyone can move society forward and that we can profit from the digital opportunities of now, thanks to new technologies and digitalization.
Women’s STEM Award – great chance for young women to be in the spotlight
Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics - It is particularly important for us to progress in these disciplines. For the seventh time already, female STEM graduates worldwide can submit their thesis with focus on one of the strategic growth areas: Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, Internet of Things, Cyber Security and Networks of the Future.
Together with the initiative “MINT Zukunft schaffen” and the students’ magazine “audimax MEDIEN”, Deutsche Telekom awards the best thesis with 3,000 €. In addition, each innovative topic will be awarded 500 € and a special prize for Social Impact will be honored with an extra amount of 500 €.
Social Impact – How does your work contribute to positively changing our society?
Many approaches make a great contribution to positively changing our society, for instance the responsible use of artificial intelligence in medicine or conscious geo-political decisions for Germany as a business location. ‘Lead in technology’ – one of the main pillars of Telekom’s group strategy –also means responsible network production. In the focus: long-term solutions in the area of energy efficiency and sustainability in technology. We are all working hard to increase awareness of this issue in all innovation areas. The link between sustainability and innovation is key for us. That’s why we are awarding a special prize of 500 € to one thesis of our five growth areas that devotes itself in a special way to the topic of Social Impact.
