ASFINAG, the Austrian motorway operator, has awarded T-Systems in Austria the contract to operate the new central toll system "GO-Maut 2.0." This major deal involves operating the IT systems for toll billing and for around 230 sales outlets in Austria and abroad, as well for as the 48 mobile control units. T-Systems prevailed over strong competitors to win the bid tender in the highly contested toll market. The company will deploy the latest virtualization and automation technologies, with the aim of increasing safety and quality while reducing costs.
"This contract underscores our promise of ongoing quality to our customers," emphasized Reinhard Clemens, member of Deutsche Telekom's Board of Management and CEO of T-Systems. "It represents a further success in the toll market, after winning the contracts to set up and operate the toll systems in Germany and Belgium."
From early 2018, T-Systems will be responsible for preparing and analyzing the data based on SAP. T-Systems will run the hardware in its own maximum-security (Tier3++) data center at the T-Center in Vienna and be responsible for the existing SAP and Oracle software. A dedicated team of specialists will adapt, enhance and modernize the existing applications.
