- New Innovation Program off the ground
- Telekom Deutschland and hubraum are on the lookout for consumer applications
5G is the new mobile communications standard. It allows brand new applications that need particularly fast networks with high capacity and short response times.
"Thanks to enhanced availability following the launch of the new Magenta Mobil portfolio, everyone can enjoy 5G. Now the focus is on what customers get out of it. That's why we're on the lookout for innovative start-ups with a fresh perspective on this new world. We are particularly keen to find young entrepreneurs with great ideas for consumer entertainment, including gaming, sports, music and augmented reality," says Torsten Brodt, Head of Commercial Management at Telekom Deutschland.
Testing and developing ideas
Supported by experts from hubraum, Deutsche Telekom's tech incubator, and the Group's own technology experts, 10-15 selected start-ups will get the chance to test and further develop their ideas on Deutsche Telekom's live network during the Innovation Program.
This three-month program will be held around Deutsche Telekom's headquarters in Bonn. Naturally, our 5G infrastructure will also be available there for the start-ups. "This program will create innovative solutions that make 5G a tangible experience for our customers," explains Axel Menneking, Head of hubraum.
Start-ups who want to throw their hat in the ring can apply now here. The Innovation Program will take place from April to July 2020.
To implement the program, Deutsche Telekom is working with Quake Capital, a U.S.-based investor specializing in promoting early-stage start-ups.
