Digital Female Leader Award 2020: Welcome to the finals

Deutsche Telekom supports women in advancing their careers. Therefore, the #DFLA2020, organized by GDW Global Digital Women GmbH, is particularly important to us as it puts “power women” in the spotlight. We are very proud that two of our colleagues are among the finalists. Dr. Olga Nevska (category: Mobility) and Lisa-Marie Urban (category: NewWork) are in the top 3! We are crossing our fingers and are looking forward to finding out who has won in the JourneyToDiversity tour scheduled to take place from November 9 to 19, 2020!

The spotlight is on two wonderful power women

Olga Nevska

Olga Nevska took over as Managing Director of Telekom MobilitySolutions in March 2019 to turn the internal fleet management at Deutsche Telekom on its head. Away from the classic company car to administration and mobile mobility for all employees - she and her team are working on an intermodal employee mobility platform. Car sharing, public transport and shuttle service are available on request in different ways, such as bicycle sharing or e-scooters. Olga puts all processes to the test with the goal of digitizing them. Of course, the primary focus is always the customer.

In her spare time, the mother of a four-year-old daughter has a penchant for boxing and launched an internal women's network “PowerWomen@DT” which not only meets for weekly boxing training, but primarily sees itself as a team and career network. The members support each other on their professional path, but also organize workshops for themselves and other women in the group on all kinds of career topics.

“When you enter the ring, you need mental strength and a willingness to perform. Values that I really appreciate. With this spirit, we want to develop various initiatives to make women in the Group even more visible.” Olga Nevska

Lisa-Marie Urban

Our second “power woman” is all about “NewWork” and the introduction of the cross-functional skill platform “Decidalo”. Lisa-Marie Urban and her team launched the tool in seven Telekom IT countries for 10,000 employees, which is a real game-changer in the world of skill transformation and sourcing. It enables all employees to be interested in project roles and tasks and at the same time to be found by teams with the required skills. The name, gender, and location of the employee remain anonymous. Over 1,000 internal matches since being launched in September 2019 speak for themselves.

The workforce manager has brought self-organization and digitization into total workforce management. In doing so, she has helped colleagues to mutually network, take advantage of professional opportunities, and at the same time, reinforce diversity in the company. The iterative approach from observation, through hypothesis formation and pilot phase, to the overall rollout was particularly important to Lisa-Marie Urban and team. With her strong vision to bring a self-regulating approach to sourcing, she could encourage colleagues to work with her on the implementation. Thus, the right skills can be used at the right time in the right place for Deutsche Telekom.

We wish continued success – our fingers are crossed!

In November, you will get more insights during the 10-day tour replacing the award ceremony.

Instead of a conventional award ceremony, a ten-day tour under the motto #JourneyToDiversity” will take place across Germany this year. While on this journey, GDW founder Tijen Onaran and her team will surprise the winners of the Digital Female Leader Award and, together with the members of the jury, will present the awards.

You can take part live via the DFLA Instagram account.

More insights will be available on social media from November 9th until 20th on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Feel free to follow!
